You’re invited to join Alaska in celebrating the U.S. Department of Labor’s 10th Annual National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) events. NAW is a nationwide celebration that brings together employers, industry associations, labor organizations, community-based organizations, workforce partners, education providers, and government leaders to demonstrate their support for apprenticeship.

NAW Achievements Over the Past 10 Years:

  • All 50 States Participated
  • Over 9,960 Events Held
  • Over 1,400,000 Attendees
  • Over 1,800 Proclamations Issued

Figures represent cumulative NAW engagement

The theme for NAW 2024 is “National Apprenticeship Week 2024: Celebrating 10 Years of Engagement, Expansion, and Innovation.” This theme reflects the transformative power of Registered Apprenticeship and its ability to bring together key national, regional, state, and local stakeholders across the country to meet critical workforce needs. Since NAW’s inception in 2014, Registered Apprenticeship has gained increased recognition as a tool to create the highly skilled workforce necessary to modernize our country’s infrastructure, build clean energy technologies, address cybersecurity threats, and build a stronger care economy, while also creating essential on-ramps for job seekers to enter into robust career pathways.

National Apprenticeship Week is an opportunity to spotlight how Registered Apprenticeship Supports our economic growth, advances racial and gender equity, and builds a pipeline to good quality jobs while also supporting underserved communities.

– Acting Labor Secretary Julie Su
