Alaska's Department of Family and Community Services (DFCS)

The DFCS program provides youth under Division of Juvenile Justice supervision and in secure treatment facilities throughout the state the opportunity to meet their educational and employment goals through targeted programming and individualized services. Services include high school completion, employment training, supportive services, prevention and reintegration support, and follow-up support to youth.


Alaska Primary Care Association (APCA)

Northern Industrial Training (NIT)

NIT targets homeschooled and out-of-school youth. NIT aims to train, educate, and employ eligible Alaskan youth in one of four homeschool pathway programs: Welding, Carpentry, Mechanics, and Drivers Education. This program is the best fit for qualified Alaskan youth and young adults who are or have been engaged in a homeschool program with an interest in gaining credentials and work experience in some of Alaska's most in-demand industries.

UAA Kenai College provides services to out-of-school youth ages 16-24, who face barriers to education and career advancement. The college supports participants in high school equivalency attainment, connections with employers and in-demand occupations, work experience and career exploration opportunities, and postsecondary education and training . Support services are available to ensure participant success in training.

The Yukon Delta Fisheries program provides targeted services to local youth in the Yukon Delta. This program provides employment experiences for youth from multiple villages in the Yukon Delta through structured fishery and office administration employment opportunities. The program additionally provides high school completion support and post-secondary training and education placement. This program is a best fit for youth in the Yukon Delta seeking employment experience.
